Director of DFAIT and a senior diplomat from Canadian Embassy in Thailand meeting with NLD Vice Chairman U Tin Oo and a couple of CEC

Yesterday, Nadia Burger, Director of DFAIT and a senior diplomat from Canadian Embassy in Thailand visited Rangoon and had a meeting with NLD Vice Chairman U Tin Oo and a couple of Central Executive Committee member. They shared view points, Foreign Affairs Director reaffirmed Canada's commitment for supporting democracy in Burma.

It shows that the Government of Canada listens our request for "Providing moral support by actively engaging with the leaders of National League for Democracy and Committee Representing the People's Parliament" (a part of requests at the end of Aon April 16 and consequent personal petitions at the end of April) in a joint letter with various organizations in Canada.

Yesteday, On June 17, 2010, Canada Foreign Minster's strong message of support to the Vigil in Toronto is another proof that consistent hard work for our common goal is the way to bring positive results.
