The Toronto Kachin community will be holding an event
on Saturday, January 7th, 2012 (2:00 – 5:00 pm) in appreciation for
your continuous support in taking a stand against human rights
violations by the Burmese Military troops in Kachin State, Burma
(Myanmar). This event is to raise the awareness of ongoing struggles
and needs of over 50,000 Internally Displaced People (IDP), the result
of ongoing civil war, in Kachin State and Shan State.
The event will include presentations and discussions
from guest speakers, including Canadian supporters and Burma’s ethnic
activists. A traditional lunch will be served and entertainment will
be provided by the Kachin Cultural Dance group.
We would appreciate very much if you could kindly
confirm your attendance either by email or phone by Thursday, January
5th, 2012, the latest, in order to finalize all arrangements.
