The Instigators of Myanmar Violence Identified
Two Rohingya organizations located inside Bangladesh have fueled the
violence in Myanmar. Some Islamic non-government organization (NGOs)
working in hill regions have directly sponsored these two organizations –
Arakan Rohingya National Organization (ARNO) and Rohingya Solidarity
Organization (RSO). Members of these two organizations went from
Bangladesh with weapons and also took part in Myanmar violence.

initial allegation made from Myanmar government has been found. The two
organizations, non-government organizations and politicians have been
identified. Apart from the strict monitoring at the activities of these
organizations legal action is being taken against the concerned
individuals. According to the source, soon after the violence the
Bangladesh ambassador to Myanmar Shwapan Kumar Chakma was called on the
Foreign Ministry [of Myanmar]. The formal complaint was made to him on
9th June.
Based on the information received from the
ambassador the foreign secretary Mizarul Kias notified it to the prime
minister’s office on 12th June. Beside the home ministry has been
requested for verification.
The letter says, the communal
violence soon erupted and went from bad to worse in Rakhine state of
Myanmar which has connection to the rape and killing of a college going
girl was by Rohingyas (Bengalis) on 28th May. Violence spread with high
magnitude and large number died from both sides, five hundred houses
were torched. The Myanmar foreign ministry alleged that a large number
of armed men belonging to ARNO and RSO had entered Myanmar from
Bangladesh and instigated the situation and some Bangladeshi political
quarters are patronizing the Muslims in Rakhine state.
Referring to the various events of Rakhine and Myanmar the letter
describes, ‘under this situation if required measured are not taken with
proper investigation the relation between Bangladesh-Myanmar will
aggravate.’ The foreign secretary [of Bangladesh] recommended
prohibiting the activities of these two organizations ARNO and RSO run
by the citizens of Myanmar living in Bangladesh, to take legal action
against any Bangladeshi organizations or individuals patronizing those
two organizations. Because Bangladesh will not allow its soil to be used
against any foreign country.
In this connection a foreign
affairs think tank informed this ‘Bangladesh Pratidin’ that the home
ministry has taken steps in the light of the letter. The activities of
these two organizations are put under close watch. Now they do not have
any activities.

against the individual instigators. He said that measures are been taken
to improve the land border security infrastructure of both the
