 They Call it Myanmar – Lifting the Curtain was shot clandestinely over a two year period by novelist, filmmaker, and Cornell Physicist Robert H. Lieberman.  To see a trailer for the film, please click here.

Providing a grand sweep of the country, its people and its troubled history, this visually stunning documentary brings a human dimension to a country that still remains a mystery to much of the world. The Hollywood Reporter has called the documentary “The definitive Burma film…which defies the odds and delivers a compelling portrait that dwells with you.”

About the exhibition: BURMA - These Days

Four internationally recognized Burmese artists, all based in the capital Yangon, will present their latest works for the first time in Canada. Ranging from dramatic portraiture and fiery impressionistic landscapes to photo-realistic waterscapes and atmospheric depictions of every-day life, this survey show illustrates the scope, creativity and technical skill that the Burmese art scene has become renowned for.
