The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal commemorates the 60th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's accession to the throne as Queen of Canada. The awards honour significant contributions and achievements by Canadians and recognize Canadians who have made a significant contributions to other citizens; their province, territory, community in Canada or their country.
The Chancellery of Honours, the Secretary to the Governor General, administers the award program. U Kyaw Zaw Wai has been selected as one of the recipients of this prestige award in recognition for his work and dedications for the Burmese community and the people of Burma.
